Classifications of Djinn, Types & Categories of Jinn/Djinn

Classification Types and Categories of Djinn Jinn Spirit Ghost Demon Dragon Khodam Muwakil Spiritual being Brother RahmanMany scholars put djinn/jinn in many different categories. I will not speak of each one but I’ll speak of how they are classed.

AMIR : These are the Jinns that live among us, in or around our homes. They are not conjured or used for any reasons.

GHOUL SI'LA: These are the Jinns used by magicians; they dwell in graveyards and dirty dingy places.

Now magician can use other kind of Jinns too but these are used often due to their dark and malicious nature. Many times magician will do rituals in graveyard to get such Djinns so they can cause harm to others. Ghoul consists mostly of females, but this does not mean there is no male.

QAREEN/HAMZAD: According to Islam, every human is born with a Djinn/Jinn/Jinni. This Jinn causes the person to do bad and sin. This Jinn that human is born with is called Qareen/ Hamzad (Qareen is the Arabic word and Hamzad is the urdu/Indian word for such Jinns). Now Qareen/Hamzad can be captured. In other words, they can be made your servant but it is very difficult and takes years and years of works. Our prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) turned his Qareen into a Muslim, thus resulting in not even a negative thought of anything. We human do not have the power to do this, but very pious can indeed capture their hamzad.

What can a hamzad do if captured and made in to your servant?

1) They can give you information on any person in the world. Every human has a hamzad, so once we capture our hamzad, we have the ability to send it to another person’s hamzad and get information on that person. We have a Qareen from the day we are born, so they know every detail about us.

2) They can cure illness.

3) Find lost and stolen things.

4) Influence another person’s Hamzad to get that person to do anything you want.

5) Let you know who is coming to see you, before they come. I once knew a healer, he did not have a Jinn, but he had captured his Hamzad. Every time he would have a visitor, he would tell that person, what/why they are there for, what year they were born, time and the name of their parents. This is because his hamzad got information from the client’s hamzad. Now this was pretty much all he did, he really didn’t heal anyone, but when people would hear such information they would put full faith in him.

Danger from a Hamzad/Qareen :

To capture your hamzad is not an easy task. Naturally they are evil and very powerful. They know every detail about you, what scares you, what makes you sad, your all weakness, etc. So to control such a being is far, far from easy. There are two methods to capture your hamzad : the dark way and the white way (ruhani way). The dark methods consist of doing sinful acts and are a bit easier, because when a person tries to capture his hamzad by black magic, it is for evil deeds. So the hamazad is more open to this. Now when a person wants to capture their hamzad in a white method (ruhani/spiritual method), first thing they must do is spend years no sinning, much praying, many pious things. Because when a person is heavily involved in religion and God, they tend to sin less, thus causing your hamzad to weaken. So it has less control of you. This is hard because it is not easy for mankind to become so pious in a short time. 9 people who I know who have captured their hamzad are between the ages of 47-62. They are extremely pious, never missed a prayer, abstain from sin and illegitimate desires, etc.

When doing a conjuration for a hamzad, a single mistake cannot be made; in fact the hamzad will try to scare you to death and if the conjurer gets scared and leaves his protective circle his life is over. I knew of a man who was in a middle of a conjuration, it was a 30 day ritual & he was in his last 5 days. The hamzad was alive and active, whenever he would do his ritual the hamzad would appear as a shadow (which they always do, or the exact image of you) it would run around the room, make scary noises and so on. During the ritual, there was a fire at a neighbor’s home. So he was forced to leave his home and break his ritual. In 24 hours he started bleeding from every hole in his body, got ill and passed away in 10 days. I have heard many situations like these. Hamzad is not a game, they know you better than you know yourself and would you try to control something like that? To top it off, their powers are beyond our comprehension.

Additional information on a Hamzad/Qareen

Many times I hear that a specific place is haunted by the man who use to live there or the children or whomever that was murdered there. Now in Islam, we do not say such things, it said in the Quran and the Bible, our soul goes to God and our soul does not stick around and haunt places regardless of how one dies. What we say is, it is not the soul of a person that is haunting that specific place, but that person’s hamzad. When we pass, our hamzad/qareens do not; they have their own life span, so they are free to do what they want. Once the person they were attached to dies, some choose to act like soul of a deceased person and haunt or torment some place or someone. Since they are with us until birth and show themselves like shadows or our exact image, thus can lead one to think such and such place is haunted by the owner that died there, when in fact, it is that person’s hamzad.

FAIRY (pari) : Yes we do in say they exist. They would be classified in the flying djinn category. They dwell near lakes and small bodies of water. Their conjuration consists of being next to a lake or a small body of natural water, since that is where they dwell. They are beautiful creatures and are females.

FAIRY, what can they do for us ?

1) If one manages to conjure one, the fairy/fae is very loyal.

2) They can prevent hexes; help with luck and general things. But one must remember, they should never marry or have any sexual relationship with a fairy, because if you do, then you can forget about ever, ever having a human companion.

Shaitan Marid Jinn malicious and pure evil Brother RahmanSHAYTEEN/SHAIYTAN: Mentioned in a 100 verses in the holy Quran. This what non-muslims will call demon. These are the "worst of the worst". These Jinns are pure evil, they serve the devil (shaiytan). While other Jinns can do good, become pious and even become Muslim just like human, these djinn cannot do such a thing, because they are pure evil; the devils helpers. Very strong magician can have access to these Jinns, in fact they can have access to thousands if they do some very sinful acts, which I will not get in to.

Shayteen, what can they do ?

1) They can cause pure hell in one’s life.

2) Death

3) Illness

4) Destruction

5) Loss of everything

6) Possession (other Jinns can as well)

These Jinns burn very badly when they hear recitation of the holy Qur'an.

Classification of Djinn Jinn Spirit Demon Qareen Brother RahmanProphet Muhammad (s.a.w) said there are 3 kind/types of Jinns :

1) One that flies. These are also the Jinns that use to eavesdrop on the heavens, to get information on people. They were used by fortune tellers. After the coming of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w), these Jinns could not go near the heavens, because they would get stuck by balls of fire. The angels speak in the clouds about things that will happen on earth, certain Jinns eavesdrop close to heaven and relay the messages to their masters (fortune tellers, along mixed with that information 100 lies).

Qur'an chapter 37 verses 6-10: Surely we have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment, the stars, and there is a safeguard against every rebellious shaitan. they cannot listen to the exalted assembly, and they are thrown at from every side, being driven off, and for them is a perpetual chastisement, except him who snatches off but once, then there follows him a brightly shining flame.

2) The ones who take shape of dogs and snakes: usually the evil ones, dark natured.

3) The ones that dwell in a place and then carry on: the ones that live among us.

Many Jinns can be classified under these categories, thus making one think there are many kind of Jinns, when in fact it can be a jinn in the same category as the other.

MAARID/MARID: I have heard here in the west that Maarid is nice, caring Jinn, believer, kind & loyal to their owner. But unfortunately that is not true at all. First of all, I would like to ask the person who stated this, how did he/she get to this theory? What is the proof that these Jinns are what many claim them to be? As I have stated in the past, the Qur'an speaks of jinns, how they live and the kinds. Many people, even non-muslim use the Quran to back up information on Jinn, but then why don’t they use the Qur'an to back up all the information on Jinn? Why pick and choose and go with the one that benefits you or makes it easy for you to make a quick buck !?

Maarid, what are they:

These Jinns are worse than the Shaitan jinn. They are old, ancient and they are powerful but they are very malicious and evil. They are deadly, they teach magicians on magic. So many magicians if they are powerful enough will have a maarid under their keep. Maarid are rebellious jinns and I have yet to see a "kind, pious & believer Maarid" !

The Quran speaks of the Maarid, but people here in the west don’t want to believe in what it says about it. We here in the west tend to believe what many people think, and or state, even if they have no proof what so ever. Indeed we have proof, the proof is the Quran, what is yours? A website, a so called Jinn seller ? Show me the proof and I’ll show you proof that will blow your mind.

Surrah as-saaffat (chapter 37, verse: 7) "wa hifzum min kule shayateen, maarid" translation: and (there is) a safeguard against every rebellious shaitan, maarid.

There is no such thing as a believer Shaitan. Do you have any idea what Shaitan means? It means the devil, there is no pious Maarid or believer. They are powerful & evil creations of our lord.

IFRIT/IFREET: Indeed one I find so fascinating, one of the most powerful of all Jinns, strength and power is unimaginable.  I have seen Muslim ifrits under the control of khodam. There is also bad ifrit just like humans. The Quran indeed speaks of ifrits.

Surrah an-naml (chapter 27 verses 38-40) I will type this in English since it is quit long.

"Prophet Sulayman (as) said, oh chiefs! Which of you can bring me her throne (queen of shebas throne) before they come to me in submission". An ifreet (strong one) from the jinns said “I will bring it to you before you raise from your place, and verily, I am indeed strong and trustworthy for such work. One with whom had knowledge of the scripture said I will bring it to you within a twinkling of an eye! then when (prophet Sulayman (as) saw it placed firmly before him he said, this is by the grace of my lord! to test me, whether I am grateful or ungrateful! and if any is grateful truly his gratitude is a gain for his own soul, but if any is ungrateful truly my lord is free of all needs, supreme in honor"

Now I’m not trying to get off the topic, but many think an ifreet brought the throne of sheba. Surely this is not true, while an ifreet did put in his offer, that he would bring it to prophet Sulayman as before he stands, prophet Sulayman (as) did not accept this offer, indeed he wanted something faster. A man with the knowledge of the scripture brought it. Now what knowledge did this man have? From many Sufi scholars, many sheikhs, and Islamic religious scholar say, this man was a wali (a pious man who has power from our lord, they have a special gift). He had knowledge of the ism allah al-a'zam ( the greatest  name of allah). One with such information can ask the lord for anything and get it, as it is said. Allah knows best..

Ifreet is one of the most powerful of all Jinns. They come in good and bad. In Indonesia, a strong ifreet is called a 'omyang" old and powerful.

The Guardian of the Holy Letter of the Holy Quran KHODAM MUWAKIL Brother RahmanMUWAKIL : is a powerful creation of our lord. They were created to safe guard each letter of the holy Quran. Each letter has its own Muwakil, as well as each surah (prayer). Now under the command of each Muwakil there are very high rank Jinns. Some also consider those Jinns as Muwakil (because of their immense power), some categorize them as two different domains. Muwakil or the jinn under their command can be used by specific pious Islamic healers. It is said 1 (one) muwakil, or the jinn under the command of the muwakil, can kill 1000 jinns within seconds. Much information does not exist on muwakil. Some say they are created of half light (nur) and half smokeless fire. Some say they are angels and what one summons when doing an islamic ritual (amil, wazifa) is the jinn below the command of the muwakil that safeguards that prayer or letter. Either way, they are the strongest of such creation and the chance of anyone being able to use them openly is very, very small. This is why most people have regular jinns ( which indeed are still very powerful and 99.9% of the time can get the job done), but the ones that do have access to muwakil/jinn below them, are very pious people, free from sin and the love of this world.

Some other Jinns spoken of in the Quran and/or the Hadith :

1) Khubuth: These are the  ones that dwell in the toilets. Yes they can be summoned by dark magicians for assistance. There is a specific prayer (duya) that is said when going to the toilet, to protect us from the male and female khubuth “allaahumma inni a’oodhu bika min al-khubthi wa’l-khabaa’ith (o allaah, i seek refuge with you from the male and female devils, khubthi, khabaa'ith (male and female).

2) Khinzab: These are the ones that disturb us during prayers. They are helpers of the devil, I never heard of anyone conjuring or using them, they already have their job assigned from the Shaiytan.

Where do the non-tribal Djinn fit in the Djinn world?
Would non-tribal Djinn be considered outcasts since they live in smaller communities?

      Brother Rahman February 28, 2014 at 1:05 pm #

A jinn does not have to be a part of a tribe just like you and anyone else does not to be part of some club or Organization. The issue is, people have made up their own stories about jinns in their heads, as we already do not have enough fake stories about jinns as it is.

In the world of Jinns, there are Tribes/Kingdoms, now each and every single djinn does not need to be a part of any Tribe/Kingdom. Usually the tribe of jinns consistent of family members, some jinns have only one or 2 family members, thus causing their tribe to be very small, some jinns have family members who have passed away, causing them to be alone, this does not make them a “outcast” just like you living alone, or not being I’m a foundation, does not make you a out-cast.

Sir you said Qareen can bring information on any person in the world, so if one manages to capture his qareen can we just show picture of someone in UK and his name and tell our qareen to go to UK and bring this specific information from this person? Or would we need to provide more information on this person to this qareen sir?

Sir I live in [removed by admin], there is a perception here that if we say our salah five times a day than black magic can not be done on you? Is this true sir because unfortunately in this part of the world magic has become a common practice despite us being Muslims! I will be really grateful if you can answer these sir!

To answer your questions (first para):

A Qareen/Hamzad can give information on individuals but it is not as simple as me holding a photo and saying “GO QAREEN BRING ME INFO” ! It requires a lot more than that…

What you need to realize is the people who do capture their own Qareen have knowledge of such iLm. They have knowledge of such things. They are not normal people who do some Amal and get a Qareen. They are individuals who know how to use a Qareen if they manage to capture it. Many fools do one amal (ritual) after another and seem to think if the capture their Qareen, or get a Jinn Haziri (Djinn summoning) they will be good to go ! But surely this is wrong. One must know how to use what they have gotten.

Also what the Qareen can do depends on the Person who is capturing it, how high they are in spirituality how high their knowledge us. When one captures a Qareen, the Qareen is only as strong as them in certain aspects. If a normal person who has no real knowledge in such things manages to capture a Qareen most likely the Qareen will destroy them.

People tend to worry about HOW they can capture their Qareen or get a Jinn, but HOW is not important, “HOW TO USE” is.

Answer to your questions (2nd Para):

Muslims seem to think that if they are good muslims they should get some extra spiritual reward. They assume if they do salah 5x a day they are “black magic proof”, and should be able to deal with jinn but they are so wrong.

Being a good muslim is what a muslim should do. We should not think we are going to gain some mystical power from it. If simply doing Salah 5x a day would prevent black magic then no one in any muslim country who does Salah would get afflicted by Black magic. Our Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the best of all humans, the ones closet to Allah got afflicted by black magic so why do we think we can’t?

Yes, doing Salah 5x a day, doing much dzikir, reading Qur’an can make it harder to get afflicted by spiritual issues but does not mean you are “100% proof”.

      No one is.

      Allah knows best.

Hey , Is True that jinns are classified in Earth , water , fire And air elements ? if so Does elements also apply on humans too ..??

    • Brother Rahman
      Brother Rahman November 12, 2016 at 11:51 pm #

Never heard of jinn being classified in these categories. Jinns are made of fire.

  4. Seeker November 13, 2016 at 12:06 am #

According to Hadith, “There are three types of jinn: one that flies through the air, one that are snakes and dogs, and one which stay in places and travel about…”, what about the jinn that are snakes & dogs. They are also made of fire or they are made of earth element? If not then, what will be their classification, all jinn are made of fire?

    • Brother Rahman
      Brother Rahman November 13, 2016 at 12:15 am #

The way a jinn moves or lives has nothing to do with an element. All Jinn can fly and travel at fast speed; this does not mean they are made of air. There are djinns/jinns that take form of snake and/or dog; this does not mean they are snake or dog. A jinn that stays in places like the ones that live among us in our home and one that just travel, none of this indicates or has anything to do with an element. They are jinn; they are made of smokeless fire.

Birds fly; does this mean they are made of air, fish lives in water, does this mean they are made of water. There are insects that live in volcanic ash; does this mean they are made of fire? NO TO ALL.

  5. Daniyal Tariq November 14, 2016 at 2:35 am #

Lol… Surely every Jin is made of fire but by elements I meant do elements have effect on jins like water elements will be found near oceans or seas , earth elements Jin will be found near mountains areas or maybe in cave and so on so forth …. Just wanted to hear does these elements have any effect on jins or humans

    • Brother Rahman
      Brother Rahman November 14, 2016 at 8:28 pm #

It is true some jinn live near the water, desert, forest, etc but it has nothing to do with elements, it has to do with a preference similar to humans, just like humans; some choose to live in the city, some close to lakes and oceans and some close to trees and forest areas.

      Allah knows best.
